Privacy Policy — Castle Defence
Overview
Castle Defence ("the App") is a mobile game for Android. This privacy policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
Data We Collect
Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)
We collect anonymous usage data to understand how players interact with the App. This includes session duration, screens visited, in-game events (e.g., chapters completed, purchases made), device type, and operating system version. This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally.
Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the App crashes, diagnostic data is automatically sent to help us fix bugs. This includes device model, OS version, stack traces, and app state at the time of the crash. No personal information is included.
Cloud Save Data (Firebase Firestore)
If you sign in with Google Play Games, your game progress is saved to the cloud so you can resume on another device. This includes your campaign progress, skill tree, resource balances, and settings. Cloud save data is linked to your Google Play Games account.
Google Play Games
If you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, we access your player ID and display name for leaderboard and achievement features. Sign-in is optional and initiated by the user.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays optional rewarded video advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data in accordance with Google's advertising policies. You may be shown a consent prompt (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before personalised ads are served, in compliance with applicable regulations.
In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not collect or store any payment information such as credit card numbers. We receive only a purchase token confirming the transaction.
How We Use Your Data
- Analytics: To improve gameplay, fix bugs, and understand player behaviour in aggregate.
- Crash reports: To identify and fix technical issues.
- Cloud save: To allow you to sync game progress across devices.
- Advertising: To support the App's development through optional rewarded ads.
- Purchases: To deliver purchased in-game items (gems).
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data to third parties.
Data is shared only with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (analytics, crash reports, cloud storage)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Google Play Games (leaderboards, achievements, sign-in)
- Google Play Billing (in-app purchases)
All data shared with these services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Security
All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Cloud save data stored in Firebase Firestore is encrypted at rest by Google.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Analytics and crash data is retained according to Firebase's default retention periods (typically 14 months for analytics, 90 days for crash data).
- Cloud save data is retained as long as your Google Play Games account is active.
- To request deletion of your cloud save data, contact us at castledefence@googlegroups.com. We will delete your Firestore document within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require account creation to play. Google Play Games sign-in is optional and requires a Google account.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of personalised advertising (via the consent prompt or your device's ad settings)

Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
